Despite some damp days, nothing could dampen the spirits of the village.

This sunfish was seen off the Battery on 3rd August. Jumping into the harbour provides many hour of fun. The fight against the tide on 5th August.


The organiser of Coverack's Summer Events would like to thank the following attractions for their support in donating valuable entry tickets as prizes for the competitions:
Newquay Zoo, Future World@ Goonhilly, National Seal Sanctuary, Flambards, Trevarno Manor, Paradise Park, National Maritime Museum, and the Bluereef Aquarium,

The Regatta was held on 10th August on a pleasant afternoon with races for swimmers and for boats.

In the photograph to the right, by Rob Beadle, you can see some of the local boats taking part in the races.

Regatta

The weather was unkind on Lifeboat day, but there was still a
good audience to watch the display by the Falmouth Lifeboat
and helicopter working together. For the first time there was
a display by the coastguard team, near the Old Post Office.

Here you can just see a man being lowered on to the Lifeboat in less than perfect conditions.
The Rock Pool Safari was very well supported and this squat lobster was one of the more unusual finds on Mill Beach.
A damp beginning to the day blossomed
into a fine, warm afternoon for the Fete
on the Battery. Adults and children tried
to beat the odds on the traditional games
such as splat the rat, golf balls into a tyre,
hoopla, bowling, and the stocks. A gentle
musical accompaniment was provided by
the Cober Valley Accordian Band.
