The Mill Gallery was established in 1988 by David and Elisabeth Clarke.
Situated in an old water mill, 30 metres back from the sea front, in the
centre of the village opposite the beach, is Elisabeth's working studio.
Here she can be seen working on her watercolours of the Cornish landscape,
especially the coastal scenes where the rocks meet the sea. The play of
light upon the water, creates the rich diversity of the Cornish scenery
with a blend of wild coasts and sheltered harbours. The whole area around
Coverack and West Cornwall supplies a wealth of inspiration.

Elisabeth
trained in Cardiff, where she met David, and has taught art in schools
across the world as they travelled during David's mining career. In 1976
that brought them to Cornwall and 10 years later they gave up their careers
and opted for that quality of life that Cornwall offers, running a small
farm and starting the gallery. Since then the success of the gallery has
turned into a full time occupation. Always available in the gallery is
a selection of Elisabeth's original paintings and her large range of lithographic
prints of hte Cornish landscape, together with a display of work by other
West Cornwall based artists and ceramicists. The gallery is open for each
season between Easter and the end of October from 10am to 5pm and is open
every day except Mondays.
