A LITTLE ABOUT US
Plans for our own gig and sponsored by the village and local businesses started in 1999, when after much hard work, the 'Lark' [named after the last 'Seine' or pilchard fishing boat based at Coverack] was launched in August 2000. She was built by D.J.Currah at Looe.
Following our first full season in 2001 we have gone from strength to strength, competing in many of the local race meets and the World Championships held in the Isles of Scilly in May each year. All our men's,women's and junior teams challenge for, and are amongst, the medals for the events.
Coverack Gig Club has three tiers of membership - Junior, Adult and Social.
Junior membership is for those rowing in the Under 14's and Under 16's sections (Upto and including Year 11 pupils at the start of the season) FROM 11 YEARS & OVER
Junior Membership is £15
Adult Membership is £60*
Social (Non rowing) Membership is £20
Membership is strictly due prior to the end of March each year.
* Membership can be paid in installments. Further
details upon request.
