Coverack Christmas Tree Evening

Saturday 6th December came as a fine day, without the usual Easterly gales and rain, normally booked for the first display of the Christmas lights. There was a good crowd to see Elizabeth Watts switch on the lights on the tree, and to hear the Brownies sing carols. Father Christmas duly arrived to distribute gifts to deserving children, whilst parents enjoyed snacks from the stalls, to the music of Ian Edward's "Illumination Brass".

Coverack Post Office

Pennny Parton, Postmistress, retires on 23rd December after serving Coverack for nearly forty years. We wish her every happiness in her richly earned retirement.

Coverack is likely to be without a Post Office for a period of a few months. Angela Richards is hopeful that it will prove possible to continue the service in Brenda's shop, and is to meet an official in January 2009 to discuss plans.
