Sandcastle Competition 24th August 2006

Above you can see the winners of the sculpture (Ingrid, Eric, Hesselbo and Joe Hewson Brigg from Oxford. They won the Entrance to Goonhilly for the family. Photographed above are the winners of the Tide Fight won by several families: Marlows, Currys, Kirbys, Jones and Hamiltons from Maidenhead and Thame. It was John Marlow's 8th Birthday and they have a ticket for the family to Newquay Zoo.

The Sandcastle Competition was one of several events organised on the beach to entertain locals and visitors. The Rock Pool Ramble was another popular event when we found twenty-seven different forms of animal life in the rock pools, including seven species of crab. The events were organised by Coverack Space 2000.

We found this Blenny in a rock pool
We found this compass jellyfish too.
The lines come to 16 points like a compass
