People attending Coverack Lifeboat Day were able to see both the Falmouth Lifeboat, the Severn Class RNLI Richard Cox Scott, and the new Lizard Lifeboat, the Tamar Class RNLI Rose. The Rose showed us her Y boat, held in a compartment at the stern. The Rose cost around 2.7 million pounds. She has two Caterpillar C18 engines, providing 1000 horse power each, and each costing £75,000.
The Falmouth Lifeboat gave a rescue display "saving" two men from the sea and transferring them back on to the Falmouth Lifeboat. Later the Falmouth Lifeboat came alongside the pier for people to go aboard.

Provision of affordable housing in Coverack

Currently Cornwall Council and St Keverne Parish Council are going through a process for considering sites in and around Coverack village that will go forward for a full public consultation. The consultation will help local people decide which site or sites offer the best opportunity for providing affordable homes for local people.
Planning Officer, Andy Golay, reported that 14 sites are under consideration for 12 homes on greenfield land adjacent to, but outside of the settlement.

Coverack residents received a questionnaire on 15th August asking for their views on the best site(s).

Guy Fawkes Success 2011

Caroline Beadle, Coordinator of Coverack Space 2000, wishes to thank everyone who helped out on November 5th, Bonfire Night.

The event covered the costs, of nearly £1300 with some income still to come.

It is a real team effort so thank you for all the support from everyone.
It was a beautiful evening and a lovely community atmosphere - and maybe a few people discovering Coverack who didn't know we existed but definitely a lot of people enjoying Coverack and all it has to offer.

So many thanks once again
