Christmas Lights

Providing the Christmas lights in Coverack each year is a real community effort. There were fund raising efforts by the Bay Hotel with their Cheese and Wine Party, and by the Paris Hotel with a curry night. The stalls raise funds too on the evening when Santa visits our Christmas tree. This year there was also a donation from Coverack Singers. Sadly Santa does not seem to control the weather, and his visit was a wet one, but there was a good turnout with the stalls doing well.

The Pudding

Pulling Together

A team of helpers is needed to get all of the special features assembled and in position. Above you can see Brian, Malcolm, Bill, David, Alan Harry, Marcus, Richard, John, and Tim checking to see that all the lamps are lighting up on the Christmas Pudding. Do come and see the crown, the dolphins, the mermaid, the bells, the boat, the candles, the trees, and the necklaces of lights above the beach, as well as many other features.

Joan Kearsley took this photo of the team pulling the Christmas tree into position, ready for Clive to use his tractor to push it down into its pit. This year it is a particularly large and handsome tree with new lights as you can see below. More of the team are shown above, and the photograph symbolises Coverack pulling together to achieve a worthy goal. If you have not been before, do come and enjoy a lovely display of Christmas lights in a unique setting.
