Big
cycle challenge in India - 15th to 25th November
2008
The latest news (24th November) is that the four brave ladies
from Coverack have successfully completed their ride for charity. Angie
Richards, Aly Nicholls, Jane Campbell and Carol Jane are now in Dehli
ready to fly back to Heathrow, after their adventure in support of four
cancer charities. A brief comment received early today from Aly Nicholls,
when asked how it had been, was "Hot
and hard".
Congratulations to all of four the cyclists for their notable
achievement! See More

The
usual group of dedicated villagers have been making progress with the
Coverack Christmas lights.
The poles are in place from North Corner to the harbour and both the crown
and pudding are now in position.
To the left you can see the team hoisting Hugh's new feature, "The
Bridge", into place across the stream. Bill Frisken, in the yellow
coat helps to guide the team to move the structure past the gutters on
Beach House.
There
was disappointment to find that an unused new string of 200 lights, to
go on the poles in front of Brenda's shop, had 60 defective connections.

On the right we see
Howard, Richard, Bob, Bill, Harold, John, Ben, Brian, Giles, Kenny, George
and Barry admiring the new feature, once "The Bridge" was in
place.
Several members of
the team are not shown, but there was a big turnout of volunteers on Saturday
22nd to get the main necklaces of lights along the sea front. The pudding
and the bridge were also erected on that day.
Ben Roskilly provides
storage for the lights in his barns, and also drives the tractor to transport
them down to the village centre. |
