Art in Coverack

Coverack is well represented when it comes to art. A number of professional artists live and work here or nearby, and the village also boasts a thriving art club.   We have an art gallery in the centre of the village.

The Coverack Art Club

The Coverack Art Club was founded in 1972 and at present has 30 members so we have a few vacancies.

Annual membership is £30 - £5 for day visitors. Membership enquiries should be made to:
Dee May Telephone 01326 572119
You can telephone Ingrid Sofrin, our chairman, on 01736 763107 or email:

We are a relaxed and friendly group who meet on Mondays throughout the year from 10.30 - 3.30pm. From October to May we meet in the Lambeage Hall, and from June to September outside at various locations on the Lizard Peninsula. We have tuition and demonstrations from local professional artists at many of our meetings, or we explore a DVD, or follow up a tuition session with a workshop. We are holding an exhibition this year in April, and members have work on show throughout the year in many of the galleries on the Lizard Peninsula.

The club has an Easter exhibition at the Lifeboat Art Studio in Porthleven, near the Ship Inn, from Good Friday to Easter Monday, and they will be holding their 2016 summer exhibition at Lambeage Hall in Coverack over 10 days from July 29 to August 7, with a preview on Thursday evening, July 28.
